SGA-2
Stabilized Gimbal Assembly
SGA-2 is a gyro Stabilized Gimbal Assembly, which can accommodate various optronic payloads.
SGA-2 is a two-axis generic Gimbal Assembly, stabilized azimuth and in elevation. It is designed to carry an optronic payload made by CONTROP or made by any other manufacturer. SGA-2 has a basic dynamic angular range of ± 40 ° in elevation and 360 ° x n in azimuth. A larger dynamic angular range in elevation can be specified, based on the specific optronic payload's dimensions (up to ± 70 °). SGA-2 has precision electro-mechanical drive assemblies designed by making use of powerful direct drive torquers technology, low friction precision ball bearings, and is sealed in a way which is optimized for harsh environmental conditions. SGA-2's Servo Control electronics contains analog and digital hardware embedded into the gimbal, thus optimizing the assembly for minimum torque disturbances. SGA-2 provides active gyro stabilization to filter out all vibrations and motions which are induced by the carrying vehicle or by the high mast. SGA-2's Payload Mounting Interface was especially designed for quick connect and disconnect of various optronic payloads, using precision mounting interfaces and quick latching handles.
