Real Time Advanced Panoramic Intruder Detection System
The RAPID is a Real-time advanced panoramic intruder detection system which automatically detects motion in a wide panoramic view. RAPID performs completely passive electro-optical panoramic detection scans. The scan is very fast and takes typically about 5-7 seconds for medium scan sectors. Human targets can be detected at ranges of up to 4 km. The scanned sector can be selected between 5° to 180°.
Two Modes of Operation are possible:
- Panoramic scan mode with intruder detection.
- High resolution observation mode with target tracking and laser range finding.
Panoramic scan mode incorporates sophisticated Real time motion detection algorithms for intruder detection Multiple targets can be scanned and tracked simultaneously.
Once a target is detected, observation mode can be enabled in order to identify/recognize the intruder. An integrated automatic video tracker also enables tracking the intruder. In addition, target range can be measured using an eyesafe Laser Range Finder, target location can be calculated and displayed.
The RAPID System consists of two units:
- The SCANNER which includes the sensors and the two axes gimbal system.
- The CONTROL CONSOLE which includes a large LCD monitor (16") and all the controls required for operation of the system.
